Their bags are handmade from leather off-cuts that would otherwise be thrown away - it is estimated that more than 500,000 tons of leather are discarded each year which often ends up in landfill and rivers around the planet.  By using the discarded, leftover or dead stock leather it reduces the ecological impact of traditional leather production (which only uses the central part of the leather to make its products). Soruka aims to be a zero waste company by using all leather scraps within their products.
